If you’re looking to make an amazing improvement to your home or property, look no further than this highly qualified and reviewed company. To learn more about Nuvila Electric LLC, check out our interview article with the company’s owner, Mario Nunez.

Mario, what is your background?

I went to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. I have worked in the construction industry since 2017, and have worked for an electrical contractor in Florida and was a project manager in charge of the construction of custom homes in the city of Naples. I moved to Houston in the second half of 2018 and started my own electrical contracting business. Since 2018, we have built and finished out a multiple of projects including residential, commercial, and industrial projects for large and small general contractors in Houston.

Why should a customer choose Nuvila Electric LLC?

We have an electrical engineer as a company owner, meaning that you have a great amount of education as well as experience in the field, not only practically but also theoretically. We have three different crews that can assist with any project size, all our crews consist of 3 to 7 people and can complete projects quickly and efficiently. We have a customer-first focus in the company, meaning we will serve our customers in the best way possible. We also have a young team knowledgeable of the latest technological advances including smart devices, and competitive pricing structures.

What made you want to start your business?

I always knew that I wanted to be a business owner since I was a kid. While growing up, I was always thinking of ways to start my own business which includes a landscaping business that I launched by using the money received from my 15th birthday party. After finding my passion in Electrical Engineering, I went to work for an electrical contractor where I learned a lot from the construction industry while applying my engineering knowledge. It was then when it hit me, I needed to start my own business as an electrical contractor. I then moved to Houston from Florida and followed my passion by founding my business in 2018, just a month after moving.

What are the advantages that come with owning your business?

The biggest advantage for me is that I get to work on what I am most passionate about. I am all about quick decision making, which is extremely important when owning your business. Another perk is that I get to set my hours (for the most part). The responsibility that comes with being a business owner is big but I enjoy it. The joy of knowing that the business I created is helping provide for so many families in Houston is a feeling that I can’t describe, and that makes me very proud.

Where do you see your business in the next year, five years, and ten years?

In the next year, I see us completing most of the projects we are working on successfully, and seeing the businesses that are getting started in those locations grow and expand. In the next five years, I see Nuvila Electric working on bigger projects and getting established as one of the best electrical contractors in the Houston market. We also plan on having a larger company with more employees, more projects, more customers, and more revenue. In the next ten years, I see Nuvila Electric expanding into other markets starting in the major cities in Texas and more as time goes by.

What is your mission statement?

Our mission is to be the industry leaders and experts in commercial and industrial electrical projects, while providing the utmost technological solutions on-time and within budget.

What are the biggest issues for running this business?

The biggest issues for running this business are being able to find good contractors in the area that need electrical contractors. Contracting is all about relationships and it is hard to break through with some contractors that have had a relationship with someone else over the years. The other hard part is being able to find qualified electricians to run a crew of people and that can deliver a project promptly.

How is your team structured?

I have multiple employees. We have 14 employees right now, 3 lead electricians, 3 journeyman helpers, 6 apprentice helpers, 1 engineer, and myself and an electrical engineer.

Where can people learn more about your business?

People can call me directly at 786.603.4265 or they can go on our website: www.nuvilaelectric.com
