Jovi, what is your background?

I come from a very varied background. I was a restaurant manager for a couple of years, I then assisted in opening and training new employees at a flooring store in Katy, Texas. From there, I became the warehouse manager of the same company’s Cypress, Texas location. I’ve been with The Tile Shop since May of 2019, I worked my way up from Design Associate to Senior Design Associate. In November of 2019 I moved up to Assistant Manager, and at the end of June 2020, I became the Store Manager of this location. It’s been quite the journey, but it has been a very pleasant experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better team and company.

We understand you’ve got this under control and you know what you’re looking for, we’ll be readily available for when you need us. Are you a contractor? How are you preparing for future growth?

Since I’ve stepped up to this position, we’ve seen a huge improvement in the past 2 months. I see my team and me taking this store to the next level. We are consistently working on creating and building new relationships. When someone starts a new project, the goal is to be the first company that comes to mind.

What is your mission statement?

At The Tile Shop, we believe everyone deserves the luxury of beautiful design no matter the size of their space or budget. We strive to give every customer the ultimate tile shopping experience and take great pride in helping transform a customer’s dream into reality.

What are the biggest issues with this business model?

I’d have to say the biggest obstacle is being fairly new to the market. The flooring and tile industry is very large and we have a lot of competitors. This location has been open since 2017 and we are always working on building new relationships. We have an amazing program for contractors, installers, designers, custom builders, and anyone related to the construction industry. That’s what sets us apart from the rest of our competitors along with our exceptional customer service and assortment.

How is your team structured?

We have a wonderful team who are all skilled in design, installation, and creating a memorable experience. We understand that renovation, remodels & new builds can be a stressful situation. We are here to make things fun and easy-going. We take customer service very seriously and always strive to provide the best of the best service possible from the warehouse to the sales floor. We have 2 Senior Design Associates, Caitlin Roche & Ciara Cole. And a wonderful Warehouse Manager, Vincent Piper. We are an amazing team and have accomplished many things together!

As much as we love our website, we prefer you to visit us in person at our showroom located at 7690 Cypress Creek Pkwy. Houston, TX 77070. We are located right in between Home Goods and Academy.
