Law Office of David Nguyen, PC

Houston Law Office

We’d like to introduce the Law Office of David Nguyen, PC, a local law firm that serves individuals and employers in several ways. They do this by limiting their practice areas to a select few, so that they can specialize and better serve their clients. If you are in need of legal help for wills & estates, family law, and immigration, this law firm is the best choice for you. To learn more about this amazing law firm, check out our interview with David M. Nguyen.

David, what is your background?

I received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Houston. Afterward, I attended Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. After I obtained my law license, I worked for approximately 7 years for several multi-million dollar corporations. As Corporate Counsel – General and Immigration, I was responsible for procuring employment visas (i.e. H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN-1, TN-2, EB-2, EB-3, consular processing, etc.), I-9/HR compliance/audit, immigration compliance, contract review/drafting, and handling contractual disputes.

In addition to working in a corporate setting, I have also worked as an attorney for several non-profit organizations and private law firms. After handling hundreds of cases, I realized that professional and quality legal services were not readily available for the average person or small businesses. For this reason, I opened my law practice dedicated for this specific purpose. Not only am I licensed by The Supreme Court of Texas to practice in all Courts of the State of Texas, but I am also admitted to practice before The Supreme Court of the United States.

Why should a customer choose your law firm?

Our office provides a free 10-minute general consultation. Since I have been practicing immigration law for over 10-years, I can determine the probability of success within a few minutes. Our firm has been recognized as one of the best immigration law firms according to The Better Business Bureau (BBB), Avvo, TheCityOfHouston.com, Alignable, Martindale-Hubbell, The American Institute of Legal Counsel (AIOLC), and Attorney and Practice Magazine. We have over 100+ independent, unpaid, online reviews from satisfied clients.

What was it that made you want to become a lawyer?

My parents were Vietnamese immigrants. When they arrived in the United States they encountered many difficulties trying to obtain legal status. Additionally, when they obtained legal assistance, the attorneys were unorganized, inexperienced, and had a difficult time empathizing with their situation. When I help my clients, I place myself in their shoes and I work hard to ensure that their rights are protected. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with dignity.

What are the advantages that come with owning your business?

The biggest advantage of owning your business is being able to accept difficult cases. I enjoy working on challenging cases, but when I worked at other law firms and/or nonprofit organizations, I was unable to choose the types of cases that I worked on.

Where do you see your firm in the future?

When I started my own firm, I knew I wanted to keep it small. I wanted to get to know my clients and I wanted them to feel like they were not just a number. I wanted to be different than the other attorneys that I have met.

Initially, I started out with zero employees, but now we have 2 full-time paralegals, 2 full-time legal assistants, and 1 part-time legal assistant. We also offer our employees paid vacations, 401(k), medical insurance, dental insurance, free legal education-related courses, travel opportunities, weekly paid lunches, and bonuses. Being able to provide for our staff and their families, while ensuring that our clients’ needs are met, makes me excited about the future of the firm.

What is your mission statement?

Corporate quality legal services for everyday people.

What are the biggest issues for running this business?

Currently, we have two locations in Houston, Texas. In the future, we may need to open an international office to provide additional consular-related services for our clients.

How is your team structured?

Currently, we have 2 full-time paralegals, 2 full-time legal assistants, and 1 part-time legal assistant. When someone becomes a client, they are connected with a paralegal or legal assistant. However, all of our clients know that they can always contact me directly with their questions. Clients have the option to call, text, or email me directly. Additionally, my calendar is available online and clients can schedule in-person, Skype, or Zoom consultations.
