What is your background? Education, Work Experience?

Born and raised in Houston, the 7 th of 8 children, I attended both Catholic and public schools. Going to LSU was a great experience. I graduated with a B.S. in Speech Education. The five years in women’s fashion with small retail boutiques as great preparation for the image consulting business I began in 1983.

If a customer was to choose between your business and 3 others just like it, why would you suggest they at least give you a try first?

My clients get incredible results from the work we do together. Before we begin, they complete a Client Intake outlining their goals, likes, dislikes, etc. so I am very clear on what they want to achieve. I’m their greatest advocate and go to bat for them offering the widest array of services from color analysis to wardrobe styling, makeup, etiquette coaching, impression management, and speech coaching. Throughout the years, I have built a seasoned Rolodex of excellent professionals and resources from dry cleaners to hairdressers, cosmetic dentists, and surgeons. This is my 37th year in business and I continually research trends in lifestyle, dressing, and the marketplace.

What was it that made you want to start this business?

I always had a love of beauty whether it was flowers, art, or wonderful clothing. As a child, my mom would send me to the store for milk and if there was any change left, I’d go to the nextdoor florist and buy a single rose. At the time I went into business, I was a mom of three young boys and really needed flexibility in my schedule. To get back in shape after our third baby, I taught an exercise class
at my church. One of the women there had just had twins. She noticed I’d changed the way I dressed and asked me to come over and go through her closet. I am forever grateful to her for noticing the talent in me that I didn’t think could be monetized. I assisted her, the word spread and my clientele seemed to materialize overnight. The next month, I went to San Francisco and trained with an internationally known image consultant, Robert Pante, who is still my close friend.
